Summer Preschool, Elementary, & Youth Courses   

We offer several summer educational programs for children that are held at some of our  elementary schools, as well as at Henry James Memorial School. With so many fun things for kids to do this summer you’ll have a hard time choosing! Class size is limited so we encourage early sign-ups.

PE/Health & VHS Courses this Summer:

Taking one of these courses will free up a students schedule during the school year while earning credit towards graduation requirements.  In-person or online class registration is open with Vanco Events!

Summer Sports Academy! 

These camps were created to give children in grades K-9 an opportunity to play a sport they may be interested in. The time spent together ensures working on skills, building their confidence, relationships, and to work as a team. Don’t miss the fun!

Instructors Wanted!  We are looking for individuals who are eager to teach classes in our community.  We offer 3 sessions:  Fall, Winter/Spring, and Summer.  If  interested, please complete this course proposal form and email it to DCE.

    From knitting to pickleball and everything in between, the Department of Continuing Education offers to all ages the unique opportunity to fulfill, explore, revive, or continue the development of personal interests.  Join the fun!

    Cancellation requires notification 1 month prior to the trip to ensure a full refund. Beyond that, no refunds will be made, Unless your reservation can be resold.

  • Preschool at Squadron Line School

    The Children's Academy registration forms and/or tuition payments can be dropped off or mailed to Simsbury Continuing Education at 155 Firetown Rd., Simsbury, CT 06070. To obtain a registration form, visit the Children's Academy website.

  • SEED Program

    SEED offers before- and after-school care and enrichment activities for children in grades K-6 at all five elementary school sites in Simsbury. For more information, contact Kelly Curtis, Director, or Susan Sams, assistant at 860-408-6144.

  • State Mandated Courses such as GED, CDP, ABE, Citizenship Preparation, and Adult Basic Education Classes are available with Farmington Continuing Education who continue to service Simsbury residents free of charge. All mandated programs are free and there is no charge for textbooks or materials used in the classroom.

  • Looking for a new career or hobby? Too busy to take classes in person?  For a variety of fundamental courses or advanced career training, visit Ed2Go.  There are over 800 online courses offered with the Department of Continuing Education, Simsbury Public Schools.  Work from home, work at your own pace, and learn something new!
