Every student engages in rigorous and relevant experiences within compassionate and connected classrooms that offer multiple pathways to learn and demonstrate understanding. Together, we will cultivate our students’ belonging and curiosity, building the competencies of our Vision of a Graduate, so they are prepared for life.

The Office of the Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning oversees K–12 curriculum, instruction, assessment, and professional learning. Its goal is to ensure every student receives a rich, rigorous education aligned to:

• Simsbury's Board of Education Strategic Plan and Vision of a Graduate
• Simsbury’s Instructional Vision
• Connecticut’s State Department of Education legislative requirements

The office works directly with program directors, school principals/assistant principals, teachers, and key community members.  Together, these leaders set district priorities, manage instructional systems, and support teachers across all grade levels.

The district uses a data-driven framework to stay accountable and continuously improve:

• High Standards: Demanding performance expectations paired with support to help all students succeed.
• Targeted Resources: Student data directly informs where funding, technology, and teaching resources are directed.
• Future Readiness: Curriculum is designed to build the skills students need in a rapidly changing global society.
